Orientation Bridge or Kampong Kdei Bridge is the longest ancient bridge in Cambodia during the Angkorian period. The bridge was built in the 12th century AD (dragon and stone sculpture, it is the art of the Bayon period 1181-1220) with a length of 75 meters and a height of 14 meters.
The Orientation Bridge is located along National Road 6, about 60 km from Siem Reap City, about 50 meters northwest of Kampong Kdei Market, in Kampong Kdei Commune, Chi Kreng District, Siem Reap Province. Slide down to allow passengers to cross from above.
In addition, the directional bridge is an ancient bridge made of laterite and sandstone, 86 meters long, 16 meters wide, 10 meters high from the bottom of the river, with 21 ditches (shields for water flow) and 20 pillars.
Please be informed that the directional bridge has already been repaired twice, the first time in 1925 by the French School of the Far East, the second time in 1965 by the Ministry of Public Works under the technical assistance of the French School of the Far East.
At present, the directional bridge is less visited by tourists because it is located far from the provincial town, which makes it difficult for tourists, especially international visitors. Pictures of this bridge are also used on our 5,000 Khmer Riel banknotes at present.
