Transparency and Glass in Modern Homes
Glass homes are undoubtedly a contemporary style. In order to have transparency and a lot of natural light, a contemporary glass house is not necessary. To let in light and highlight or frame the views, you may position huge glass windows in the proper areas while building a house.

We architects refer to regional design tendencies as vernacular design. For instance, beach bungalows in a certain location may all have a style that is unique to that particular beach front. We advise taking a look at the local architecture and thinking about a contemporary interpretation of the Vernacular style. This can result in a residence that is really intriguing. You can use local materials into the design if they are prevalent there. A house may be contemporary and still blend in. A contemporary home can more easily blend in with the neighborhood's architectural style by including certain regional vernacular design characteristics.

One basic question—do you want the house to blend in with the neighborhood, or do you want it to stand out—is where I would start when building a modern home. I and other architects like to refer to construction as fabric building or object building.
